Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial Toro

Although my new home in the Lexington, KY area does provide a great B&M in Schwab’s Pipe and Tobacco, strip back down to Tucson is in my plans for tomorrow. I am really looking forward to the trip, and have been for quite some time. This is mainly because I will be able to visit Jerry’s Cigars, one of the best local shops I think you can find.

But in relocating I was pleasantly surprised to find the great selection of boutique cigars that Schwab’s offers. Having grown somewhat tired of the run-of-the-mill Fuente, Padron, C.A.O. lines that are the staples in most cigar enthusiast choices, I am drawn more and more to the lesser-known smokes.

On a Veteran’s-Day visit to Schwab’s I came across the Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial line, and after enjoying many of the Pepin cigars over the past few years, I knew that this would be an interesting cigar if nothing else.

The Toro size was very pleasing $6.80, so I picked up a couple to at least give them a shot, and after immediately falling in love with them, on my last trip to the shop I knew that I wanted a few more.

Tonight I have been enjoying one of the two that I picked up on Monday, and once again this cigar isn’t letting me down.

As for a review, I don’t think I could do the cigar justice, especially after reviews such as this already exist, and even more so since I enjoyed this excellent smoke while, as usual, taking my dogs for a walk.

But I do want to say that the stick is a tasty, full-bodied cigar that really isn’t too overpowering. The construction is amazing, providing a consistent smoke that requires virtually no relighting or touching-up. The smoke is very thick, and the aroma lingers on the tongue for just the right amount of time.

This is quickly becoming one of my favorites, although I am sure after a trip to Jerry’s tomorrow afternoon, a shop that has virtually everything a cigar connoisseur could want, I will probably find a few new and interesting smokes.

But for now, this Reserva Especial has a special place in my heart, and I am sure I will partake in more than a few of these down the road.
